Recently, Professor Zixin Deng of SJTU, academician of CAS, was selected to be Fellow of American Academy of Microbiology.

As one of the subsidiary bodies of “American Society of Microbiology”, the world’s time-honored organization of life science, American Society of Microbiology is at the leading position of the international microbiology science, and every year it selects dozens of fellows worldwide to highlight their research in microbiological sciences or their contributions undertaken in technical service and public welfare of microbiology. In the past 50 years, over 2,700 scientists around the world have been elected as fellows of American Society of Microbiology, of which over 200 are Fellows of the National Academy of Sciences and many are winner of the Nobel Prize, Lagos Award, and the National Medal of Science Award.
